Family Visit

This past weekend was the first time we have left the Houston area in over 6 months. We went to Waco to visit my brother Todd and his family. This was going to be a tough trip for us as we hoped our next visit to Waco would be with 3 kiddos. Still, we had a good time playing with Allison and Ian, and good family time out to eat. Julie took Amber out for some pampering. Amber came back with manicure and pedicure. It was relaxing for her, and a nice gift from Julie. We had a good time and even made it through a Sunday visiting a church with only a few tears. It seems like any song mentioning heaven gives us trouble. Despite the tears, we still know we will see Amanda, Andy and Katelyn again.

Amber and I are getting into some sense of a routine. We started a membership at our local YMCA, and have been a couple of times to exercise and shed a few pounds. Amber also went to her first Beth Moore bible study meeting this morning. It was tough to go through introductions with everyone else talking about their children, but Amber held it together. Amber is also looking to getting her application done for substitute teaching. She will likely start that in February or March depending on scheduling of sub orientations. Otherwise, we are still taking it one day at a time, and hanging in there. We still are trying to see where God would have us serve and what God would have for us next. Please continue to pray for us and God's leading in our lives.
