Memorial Service - Part 2

Saturday ended up being a good day for a memorial service. It was humid, cloudy, and a bit windy. We decided to meet to have the service at 11am instead of 1pm like we originally planned. The hope was to have decent enough weather to not have any problems. Given the threat for thunderstorms and cloudy conditions, the lake was relatively clear. We had a couple of showers of rain come over, but nothing too bad at all. We found a quiet spot along the shore near a park in Clear Lake, and had the service there. Steven our pastor shared a couple of Bible passaged and were good reminders of how much God loves children. Amber and I love kids, but going through this whole experience really emphasizes how much God loves children and cares for them. I think everyone on the boat came away with a new appreciation for kids. The only hiccup would have been docking the boat back at the boat slip. Fortunately the wind died down enough that it wasn't a problem. Right after docking, the wind picked up again. It was like God knew. While the weather was good for us, it was not good for others. If the weather had been sunny or cleared up enough, there would have been more boats and people on the lake. It worked out that we were able to have a nice private time. God certainly knew what we needed and provided the perfect conditions for us to have a service. We were able to finish by 1pm and about an hour later it started to rain more with showers coming off the Gulf. Fortunately the rain and severe weather held off till that evening, and the storms weren't too bad. -Scott

Edit 8/8/2008 - added a picture of Shay's boat named 'Dis is Heaven. Appropriate don't you think!
