Houston, we have a heartbeat!

Tuesday Amber and I went to the doctor for a check up. We are at about 6 and a half weeks along, and were hoping to see a heartbeat. Our doctor came in the room and said, "Let's skip the foreplay, and get to what we all want to know!" So up on the ultrasound monitor came our baby, and sure enough, you could see the hear beating away. So, that was very much a relief. Unfortunately, Amber is already starting to feel the effects of morning sickness. In Amber's case, this will be hyperemesis. When we had the triplets, it was really bad, so hopefully with just one baby, it will only be a third of the last time. Our doctor seems to think so. Still, Amber is already popping some zofran to help with nausea. She has not thrown up yet, and we hope to keep it that way. We are just praying she can continue to drink and eat enough. Fortunately, she was able to make it through the Texas pre-season football game against the Broncos. It was a fun game and more fun since we had not been to Reliant Stadium. Anyway, hopefully Amber will have a relatively normal pregnancy this time around. Our doctor has been nice enough to see us every 2 weeks for check ups, and even see her if we need to for peace of mind. We are blessed to have a good, caring doctor, plus health insurance that will take care of everything.

Right now we are very thankful to God for this blessing. We are still scared, but taking one day at a time. I cannot thank God enough, and just hope He will give Amber strength through all of this.

Oh ya, forgot to add. Due date is April 2, 2009. It is a little deja-vu for us since the triplets' due date was April 2.

Wow! I can't believe this new little bean shares the same due date as the triplets - that reminds me of the verse from Joel where it talks about God restoring the years the locusts have eaten. I don't know if that makes sense, but it's a promise I've held to in difficult times. (Joel 2:25)

Woohoo!!! I'm so excited for you both!!
