Update - May 2008

In May, we had some good family times. My brother Todd, Julie, Allie and Ian came to visit us from Waco. We had a good time but busy. We drove down to the beach in Galveston and had some good beach time. It was hot, but windy enough that it wasn't too bad. The surf was not too bad and it was a good cool down. We had a good picnic on the beach and then left for home. Todd and I then hit some golf balls on a par 3 course. It has been a long time since I hit a golf ball. Our play was not pretty. We then went to the Houston Dynamo soccer game against Chivas USA. The Dynamo had several good scoring chances but came up empty. The game ended in a scoreless draw. It was a good game, physical and action packed, just no scoring. Some drier air had pushed into the area which made for a pleasant evening at the game instead of hot, humid and sweaty.

The middle of May we went to visit with Generations Adoptions to start the process. It was a 2 hour introduction meeting where we got the formal applications and the director explained to us the process. Amber and I came away very encouraged, and really felt this was God's will for us. We have been praying about this and felt an overwhelming peace about the whole situation. It was a good meeting and felt we were headed in the right direction. The next step is a 8 hour seminar in June.
