Father's Day and 3 Months old!

This past weekend was Father's Day. It was a good Father's Day especially when you have a baby daughter as cute as Emma. I took a couple of days off for a long weekend so that Amber, Emma and I could go up to Tulsa with Amber's parents to show Emma to her great grandparents and extended family. We had a good time visiting with family, eating plenty of food, and just being proud parents. Amber's dad, a few family friends and I played golf Sunday afternoon. I was able to shoot a 99 with the new clubs I had partly purchased (thanks dad for picking up the tab on the rest!). It was hot but not as humid as Houston, so that was good. Overall it was a good trip and got a few pictures with the family.

Emma is growing. We figured out that over Memorial Day weekend that Emma has a sensitivity to milk. So after a few weeks of Amber keeping dairy out of her diet with only a couple of interruptions, Emma was doing much better. Still, this was very trying for us all, and during our trip to Tulsa, we decided to give Emma soy formula. This seems to be working very well. Emma is very happy and so is mama. This makes me happy with both of them happy. The move to soy formula has helped us out and given us a chance to do more, not worrying about a feeding schedule quite as much, plus we can take the formula with us if we go out for the afternoon. Emma is getting stronger holding her head up, kicking around on her floor mat, and has even rolled over from her stomach to her back. She smiles a lot at us and just is very happy.

The tough thing this month has been keeping our prayers going for my dad and his bout with Ramsey-Hunt sysdrome. Basically, he is having some shingles in his ears/eyes/throat areas, as well as some Bells palsy which causes the skin on his face to sag. Dad is doing better, but the doctors are still saying his recovery will be slow. Please continue to pray he gets better and improvement in his health/strength continues to grow.

Right now that is about all the updates I can think of, but it is late tonight. I had hoped to actually set up a facebook account and join the rest of the world. I guess that will have to wait a little longer. In the mean time, enjoy the picture of Emma as she learns about being an Aggie! (The Sooner fans in the family will have to wait.)
